As for the best way to get fish out of the well, we used to pull our boats out and park them before going to the scales. Then pull the drain plug, fill the weigh-in bag 1/2 full of water and get back into the boat. I'd just grab each fish by the lip and into the bag they went. It's a bad habit doing it in the water. I've see many involuntary releases, including a full limit at Lake Kissimme where the bag ripped and all 5 fish were freed by a guy in our club as he stepped onto the dock. I agree 100%. Leave the bass in the livewells until you pull the boat out of the water. Have you seen what 10 angry bass look like stuck in a livewell? 1st chance they get, they will jump out. This has happened to me several times while culling bass!
