I can totally understand the truck issue. Been there. Done that. It's a pain. I don't mean to disparage the X18. I have a soft spot for nice aluminum rigs. I still, to this day, want a Tracker TX17, and absolutely love the Alumacraft side console jon boats. I just want you to know all your options. Hell, I spent more time fishing with muddy boots than on my boat lately! My next boat is going to be a Coosa Kayak! Don't forget to check out Lowe. They make some awesome aluminums in their Stinger line. Just to put in my two cents, I have a 2006 Yamha 115 4 stroke and love it. To date have had zero problems. I have an old water logged 17 fiberglass and it planes out in a heart beat and can get to maybe 40- 45. I'm not a speed demon, so I usually cruise around 30-35 most of the time. It has plenty of power even when pulling a tube. No oil and reliability is what matters to me. To Revenant's comment about Lowes, when Brunswick bought Triton, they moved production to Lowe's (Lebanon, MO). I don't know if they are still there, but it looks just like a Lowe. I would check price points for sure. No sense in paying more for a sticker. When I worked there, we built Lowe, Lund and Crestliner all on the same line (same boat) but different stickers and paint. Good luck with your purchase and enjoy no matter what you get.
