The reason for the lack of gun shows in the northeast is the preponderance of liberal, anti-gun democrats and stupid gun restrictions that have done nothing to reduce crime. New York and New Jersey lead the list! Giving a gift certificate for a firearm would be no different than giving away the gun itself. It's not like BB is handing the lucky winner a rifle no questions asked. Before the winner can take possession of the firearm, whether it's a gift certificate or the firearm is shipped to that FFL holer, they still have to go through the FFL holder, they have to fill out all the paperwork subject to the area and is subject to a background check and the consequent approval or disapproval by authorities. This applies whether the gun is won in a raffle or is purchased with a gift certificate. Anytime a firearm is transferred via shipping, this process has to be done. I even had to do this to borrow a rifle from a sponsor to film a show. It was shipped, therefore I was subject to the background check, even though no money was exchanged and I wasn't the owner of the firearm! The same process applied when I shipped the firearm back to the owner. Steve
