Yes somewhere in that statement it does say max efficiency, it clarifies it best by saying not rated by coast guard or mfg, As to warranty issues mostly weight and size(L),guess I should have taken a pic as cant remember exact wording I believe their web site explains the warranty issues quite well. And it was the demise of the 2.5 that sparked the possible 2002 elimination,glad that is on hold. Im only guessing but if one had a 300 hp motor that weighed less than 440 lbs and not a 3L,it would be covered. They do have an extremely strong transom. My own experience is with an older 2002 ,1990 and with a venom on it 200 hp and under the weight restriction. Honestly dont think the additional weight would hurt the transom,If I recall correctly and seldom do anymore it was due more to handling quirks.
