One thing you need to check on is if it is not serviced properly by a dealer will it void your warranty? Had that happen to me when I bought by 225EFI. I changed the water pump cuz I was worried I sucked up some sand. Then the lower unit went out a few weeks later. The Shift shaft bearing blew. Merc would not cover it because I had it apart a few weeks earlier. So I took the hit on a new lower unit. But it doesn't make sense, I did not have the case apart, just dropped it enough to get at the pump. So just be careful so you do not lose your warranty!
