Sorry for your vicarious pain there, TA. I hope she does learn. It's an easier way than many, I'm here to tell you. We all know the old saying about "Assume". In this case though you can leave "me" out of it. Assuming you get X amount of miles over a speed limit, thru a stop sign, or any other gimme measurement concerning a violation is playing Russian roulette with your wallet and driving privileges. :( Somebody starts tellin' me "I thought" and I just tune 'em out with my own tune in the back of my head...."that was your first mistake". As mentioned (and a darn good observation), an expression of "contrition" (a feeling of responsibility for wrongdoing) is your best bet. In other words, if you did wrong then man-up, admit it, and accept whatever correction for your bad act, that's coming your way. I'm here to tell you if you argue with me, I have this immediate epiphany that a warning is going to serve no practical educational purpose except to reinforce in this person's mind, that arguing with the nice officer is the way to win - now and in the future. I have the cure for that misconception, so why not save me the paperwork, yourself some cash, and suck it up? Maybe you'll win without the drama.... Oh yea. Save the "I'll see you in court" melodrama. If you get to see me in court, I'm getting paid a minimum number of hours overtime and it's not on commission so I get paid, win or lose. You on the other hand, likely missed work - and in all probability will still lose and still cost you even more money for additional court costs. :anim_03: One last thing: I have no preconceptions about who deserves a monetary correction whether driving hot rods, luxury cars....red or any other color....old or young....male or female.....ugly or hot.....crying, whining or barking....gotta go to the bathroom or late for an appointment....do you know who I am..... Get a clue - I don't care! It's about correcting your bad behavior before you kill yourself (a lessor evil) or somebody else (a greater evil), cause me a whole lotta paperwork and having to go find and meet dead people's loved ones so I can tell them that they ain't coming home and why. Then, if you are the survivor, I will take great satisfaction in participating in your prosecution for the death of said persons. Hmmm. 5 speeding, 1 no mc endorsement, 1 exp reg - all before my 21st birthday. I learned my lesson early in life. :o NannerNannerNanner
