I have a ranger brochure circa 1990 that on the cover shows their rough water testing. The boat is air bourne comming off the top of a giant wave. One reason for all the calm water pics I would guess is lawyers. Advertise your boat in 6ft + waves then you might open yourself up to liability if someone gets stupid in bad weather. Logical people wouldn't feel yhst way but the lawyers control everything through frivialous lawsuits
