i would of switched the batteries around to see if the same think happend. but if you need new ones i would check out cabelas agm batteries. they are much better than a regular battery at a good price. they will last longer and store better in cold weather.better vibrasion resistance and also never have to think about water. no maintanance. just plug them up when you get home and forget about them. i keep my float charger plugged in 24/7 when not on the water and my current agm batteries are around 7 or 8 years old. i even leave them in the boat all winter long with charger plugged in. i'll never buy a regular deep cycle battery for my trolling motor again. agm all the way! they are also safe can never leak. you can even cut one in half and nothing will come out. i've seen it.
