Troller plug,wiring

O.K. I have always used the large washer/dryer plugs but my last one chit the bed,and my attemt at the Anderson Connector wasnt so successful either.I have a Marinco Plug that I had laying around,but the female side(batt side)only accepts up to 8 Ga. I have 6 Ga coming from the batts....what the hell can I do???I tried like hell to get it in there.
