I just purchased a 1979 115 Merc. for my 1982 18’ Procraft. I am curious if any of the following will help me with hole shot, top end speed, and handling in rough water:

- Adding a 10” Jack Plate
- Swapping Aluminum Prop with Stainless
- Adding Fins to lower unit

Also, is it possible to remove the trim cylinders from my 140 Merc of the same year and put them on this 115? How difficult of an undertaking would this be?

Finally, I’ve heard mixed opinions about buffing or waxing the under hull of your bass boat. What are the benefits or drawbacks of doing this? Logic would tell me that the smoother the surface, the less drag which = more speed? But I’ve been told that this will actually slow you down and I fail to understand why.

Any clarification to these questions would be appreciated. Thanks.
