Hey fella's. Been a member here since March and really like the site. Seems to be some very boat savvy guys on here. That being said, I have a question and hoping you guys can help me out. I have a Ranger 518vx with a Merc 200 EFI pushing it. I seem to only be getting about 62-63mph (GPS) out of it. Has a Tempest 25p prop and a 6" manual jackplate. I'm sure i'm not sitting high enough on my jackplate, but I have never messed with a manual one before and don't really even know where to start. I would think, which I could be very wrong, with this set up I should be pushing close to at least 70. I don't have the funds to re-prop, new jackplate, etc, etc, just wondering what I could do, with what I have, to maybe get a few more mph? Also have a 4 blade 25p Trophy Plus prop for a backup. Would this one make a difference at all? Thanks guys, and I appreciate any response.
