Hey folks,
I have a 1990 OMC 12/24 bow-mount foot-control trolling motor, model BF4K on my recently acquired 156 Champion project boat. The numbers on the speed switch wheel have long since faded. My question is, how many speeds is this thing supposed to have!!?? This rotary switch clicks into 4 positions but the first position is dead, wondering if it's supposed to be that way so as to have an "off" position? Or is it supposed to have 4 speeds?
It's a pain the way it is, the lowest speed on 24V is too fast for most conditions. I'm switching to 12V which eats up one battery quick.
