fungus on my bunks

i've noticed i sometimes get like fungus or mold on my trailer bunks.it only grows on the sides or bottom of the bunks. i look at the other trailers in the parking lot but don't see it anywhere else. does anyone know why it's growing on just mine, and is there something i can put on the bunks while i'm fishing to keep it from coming back?
