The Ranger Boats factory in Flippin is formally under new ownership.
Wood Manufacturing Inc. was picked up Tuesday by the privately held Platinum Equity of Beverly Hills, Calif. The acquisition formalized a deal approved in U.S. Bankruptcy Court last month for Platinum Equity to buy Minneapolis-based Genmar Holdings Inc.
Genmar owned several lines of boats, including Wood Manufacturing, the maker of Ranger Boats, which was founded by Forrest L. Wood in 1968.

Platinum Equity says Randy Hopper will continue to serve as president of Wood Manufacturing and will oversee production of Ranger, Stratos and Champion boats.
The factory in Flippin employed 850 workers in 2008 but is down to about 440 employees.
