Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this prop. Last year after not owning a boat for 10 years I purchased a 1999 Ranger 518 DVX with a 200 Optimax with very low hours. It had the Attwood Ballistic 25p prop installed.
I had never heard of this prop before buying this boat. My last boat was a 1995 Skeeter 180 ZX with a 150 Merc Black Max and a Trophy 4 blade. Don't really remember the pitch.
Trying to think back 10 years it seemed like my Skeeter came out of the hole much faster than the Ranger. Not sure about this Ballistic prop. I haven't checked speed with GPS on the 518 but it doesn't seem like it has much bow lift. I remember my Skeeter riding higher on the water where as the Ranger rides pretty flat or so it feels like from the cock pit. I can get to max RPM with no problem and actually have over trimmed trying to get more bow lift.
Any input and maybe prop suggestions are much appreciated. Pretty positive the motor is as originally set up with no jack plate.
