One of the last short boats Champion produced was the 14 fter. Why John Storie wanted it built was beyond me. Again, my theory is it was to compete with Skeeter short boats. I'm not sure of the specs but know it was a Super V type hull but with a flat back transon (not a wedge hull). I've seen 3 or 4 floating around CL. These were built around the early 80's a year or so after the Mean 15. Max HP rating was 75. Not sure on beam. My father said he knew a dealer in Texas that ran one with a in line 150. Belive these were built until the mid 90's. Rumor has it that the 14 and 15 fters sold like hotcakes in Japan thru California distributors for a few years. Kinda some neat Champ history tho.
