I just got back from the KC Boat, Sport, and Travel show. I must say, it was a welcome change from last year. Last year the show was a whole lot smaller, with only about 1/2 as many big ticket exhibitors like boat dealers, RV dealers, and others. In general, when I talked to a few of my friends that are dealers there, they were SELLING boats and RV on the spot, people ARE spending money now! Also, the general attendance appeared to be UP. I also talked to a couple of the lodges from Canada, and they said there bookings are UP, with June mostly sold out and are having to push folks to other dates which are filling up as well.
So, it looks like people may be letting loose finally. This might be a good sign for the boat builders, and if you're thinking of a new boat this year, there may be a shortage as a lot of the builders are probabally scaled back and not expecting things to break loose, but who am I to say, just my observations.
Let's see what the other shows comming up look like, as I know the KC show is just about the first one around the country!
