I was watching the archived video of Terry Scoggins on Orange Lake in North Florida flipping a crawdad into some hydrilla mats. He had a big sinker on and left it unpegged. He said leaving it unpegged increased his hook sets and allowed the bait to fall more naturally.
Now I'm not going to dispute this because the guy is obviuosly good at catching fish, but I can't imagine how having it unpegged helps it drop through the mats without getting hung up more. I'm going to try this approach this weekend and see but has anyone tried this while flipping or pitching?
