Well I had the new ride out today for a maiden voyage and, over all, things went rather well. Of course there were a few minor problems.
The problem I can't really figure out is the tilt/trim situation. This is an older boat with a minnkota trim unit on it. When she is out of the water the trim goes up and down just fine. When its in the water and idling or under low speed, everything also works. But when I am underway, the motor does not trim out. Also I found that when it is out, it will slowly go under when the boat is under power.
Could the system just be low on fluid, or is the motor shot? Is there a different problem? Could the system just not be strong enough?
