I'm trying to decide between two setups.
1. HDS-8 with structure and HDS-5 on the bow.
2. 998 with 798 on the bow.
The Lowrance route is cheaper and has a little bit more resolution but, the structure scan can only run one transducer. So, while fishing the bow unit is really showing what's 18' behind me. How big of deal is this?
Humminbird setup is about $450 more but then you have two transducers and while fishing would be looking straight out.
Which setup sounds the best and why?
