I've fished a lot of fishing lines lately, and it's taken me a while to nail down my set ups. So I thought it might be interesting to do a poll thread to see what everyone is using and for what. It might even help out the newer guys. So please put your favorite line, why, and how your fishing it.
Here's mine:
Braid: SpiderWire Stealth Braid. It's my first braid line and it works great. I can saw threw most cover, and using the Berkley Braid Knot or Tripple Palomar, it holds strong. I use it on my flipping/Pitch Rig.
Mono: Suffix Elite. It's soft, limp, and strong. It has some stretch which I actually want for my crankbait rods. For heavy cover and my guest rods, I use Suffix Siege which works great around cover. Excellent knot strength.
Fluorocarbon: Bass Pro Shops XPS Signature Series. It's a little stiff, but it casts beautifully, is , and is tough. If I could use only one line, this would probably be it. I use it on my worm and fluke rods.
Copolymer: P-Line Fluoroclear. It casts well, and is almost , and is pretty tough around cover. Right now it's on my frog rod.
Line I will NEVER use again: Bass Pro Shops Excel Mono, and Berkley Vanish. Both are stiff. Both cast poorly. And both gave me backlashes like crazy.
Lines I've Used Before: Trilene, Stren, Prime Plus, Silver Thread, BPS Excel, Berkley Vanish, SpiderWire, SpiderWire XXX, Andes Mono, Momoi Mono, and the crappy blue line they used to sell at K-Mart.
