A 5 year old North Florida pre-kindergarten student was suspended from school when a 22 caliber pistol fell out of his backpack during music class. The child told the police that he found the gun in a car owned by his stepfather.
Now I don't blame the child one bit because he is too young to know that what he did was dangerous. Five year olds are curious and will pick stuff up and that is why you have to watch them like a hawk. But I gotta say the stepfather needs to have his handgun taken away and any license he has to carry it revoked or suspended. This child could have accidentally shot or discharged the weapon and killed one of his classmates. I don't have a problem if any one wants to own or carry a weapon if they have the required permits but if you don't secure it properly or show you can't handle the responsibility then it needs to get taken away.
