Lets talk skirts for jigs and spinnerbaits. I used to always try to go with the skirts that have the collar built into them and avoid the ones with the rubber-band style collar. I don't like the rubber-band style collars as they go bad so fast just sitting in the box in the boats storage compartments. The drawback to the one piece skirts is the limited selection of colors, which is ok for buzzbaits and spinnerbaits where i stick to white or charturse 99% of the time.
However when jig fishing I really like to get more specific with my color selection. I have really been thinking that to get the colors that I really want I am going to have to start putting my own skirts together. So now comes the question should I use the rubber-band collars for ease of assembly or would I be better off tying the skirt on the jig old school style? Eager to hear what you other guys have experienced and what opinions you have on the pros and cons of each type
