For those of us that have the older Playstation 3. (the bigger one) Don't turn it on for a while until the problem is fixed.
Sony said it believes the problem was caused by a "bug in the clock functionality incorporated into the system. The bug apparently can reset the PS3 clock to Jan. 1, 2000.
Apparently last night their network went haywire and went back to Jan. 1, 2000. It comes up saying there's an error and kicks you off of there network and won't let you play any games. Just thought I'd pass this along. Mine is screwed up right now, pass the word along to the kids so that you may not have to buy another one! Don't know yet if they can fix it totally or not.
