There has been some stories coming out lately regarding the plan in Texas to allow illegal immigrants to attend college in Texas. Perry's reasoning is that since they are already here we may as well allow them educational opportunities.
My problem with all of this is that I was reading some accounts of people that have been hit really hard by this recession and the ones that really stuck out were the ones where we have all of these new graduates that are up to their necks in student loans and can't find employment. I'm not sure how adding illegal immigrants to the college roll is going to help this problem.
Do you think this is a deal killer for Perry in terms getting the republican nomination? It seemed to me that some of the other candidates took a much harder line on illegal immigration.
