Takahiro Omori became the first international angler to win the classic in 2004, he caught 3 good fish in the last 27 minutes of tournament. He fished an area along with three other anglers by pitching and flipping creature baits and jigs. despite the fishing pressure the spot was getting from these anglers, Omori pick up a reaction bait (bagley balsa B2 shallow running cranckbait) and caught those three fish in the last minutes of competition, winning the classic by doing so.
