Many folks have heard already about the new models coming out in the next few months but I wanted to just remind everyone that these new units will be in the mid price-range
with the same technology as found in the most expensive units today.
Both Lowrance and Humminbird will be offering Down imaging and Down scan in their new models. You won't have the side-scan or side-imaging option but you may find that
the DI / DS will work just fine for your type of fishing. The images you will see on these new units may make 2D sonar obsolete in the near future.
There will be many options out there from both brands with a choice of monochrome and color screens. Both with fishfinder only or combo units with internal GPS receivers.
Prices will range from $300 to just over $700 Retail
It looks like Lowrance will be releasing their new models around the first part of January and Humminbird will follow in February.
