Well I decided to strip off all my boat carpet and remove all my seats from the boat. I figured if im replacing my trolling motor, fish finders, adding an atlas jack plate, putting in a new stereo and amp then why not get new all new carpet and seats while im at it.
So now that I have gotten all the carpet, hinges and hardware off and pressure washed all the aluminum compartment doors....What do I need to do to remove the last bits of carpet glue and small bits of carpet stuck to the deck and panel doors? Should I leave it as is or should I pay them to get the surface in a better overall condition to recarpet. Not only that but I have a 1997 20' Javelin and have no idea which model carpet and what quantity the boat shop will need to resurface everything. On a side note, Has anyone ever rhino-lined they're entire bass boat before and it that even an option? I think that th rhino-lining would be sweet.
The only reason I took off the carpet and removed the seats is to try and save a few bucks on labor considering im about to drop close to $8000.00 on new boat stuff.
Oh, and if anyone wants to chime in on these products that I'm thinking of purchasing with good or bad comments that would be extra cool.
1. 8 inch atlas hydraulic jack plate
2. 45" tour series 82lb motorguide trolling motor with built in sonar
3. 2- mark series pro lowrance blk/white dual beam fishfinders
4. Want to purchase a whole new drivers gauge cluster and dashboard but dont even know if thats possible for such and old boat?
5. adding a water pressure gauge for monitoring engine.
6. Should I replace the gas tank? its 13 years old?
7. Want to rewire entire boat including all hoses to motor, gas tank, oil resevoir, etc.
8. getting new smoked windscreens.
9. I have a 70 inch seating platform and had a full stock bench with a fold down middle section and cant find anything similar and can only find a 61" bucket and center that come seperat. As well as new bow and stern pedestal seats.
Again, thanks a million for any comments on any of the stuff im getting ready to do as knowledge is power!
