I don't know if anyone has followed this in the news but EA is releasing a new game set in Afghanistan in the next few weeks called Medal of Honor. There has been alot of controversy surrounding the game because it is set in current day Afghanistan and was initially designed to be released so that it included the ability to play as the Taliban or Al Quaida. EA recently reversed course and is removing this feature from the game due to the public outcry. The game was apparently created with the collaboration of US Special forces and includes actual missions and is designed to be a realistic portrayal of how certain operations were conducted.

I'm sort of on the fence as to whether releasing this game at a this time is in bad taste or if it could perhaps enlighten the public as to how things really were/are in Afghanistan. I'm not sure if anyone here plays these type of "games" but wondered what everyone else thought about this upcoming release.
