Well guys, if you know me you know i'm a baitcasting kinda guy. I always have a spinning outfit handy as I take a lot of novice anglers out on my boat and try to avoid dealing with birds nests. Recently, my shimano spinning reel broke completely off the reel, the entire piece broke in half where the stem of the reel attaches to the rod so it was time for a new one.
Based on recommendations, I went ahead and purchased a Lew's spinning reel. I was so "wow'd" by the Lews BB1 baitcasting reel, i figured I couldn't go wrong sticking with their brand. Boy was i right. This is the smoothest spinning reel i've ever used. It was a bit pricey considering i bought it for guests on my boat but i won $150 gift card at Bass Pro this week so $129 didn't seem too bad (yeeeeeah, I won another raffle )... It comes in TLP1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 sizes. Guys, if you want a sweet spinning reel without paying an extra $100 for a shimano Ci4, I would highly recommend this reel.
