August 5 - Lake St Clair Fishing Report
<!-- display body -->
Port Huron - Vertical jiggers are getting some walleye again, just north of the Blue Water Bridge. Shore anglers have seen some evening walleye on twisters or jointed Rapalas. Marysville thru Algonac - Smallmouth bass from shore or in the drop off areas near shore is good. Crawler harnesses, deep crank baits, or tube jigs have been good. Walleye is spotty for the most part, very few reported. Perch have slowed a bit, but some are still getting bites on minnows in 8-12 FOW in weedy areas.
Harsens Island - Walleye are moving into the 3 channels from Lake St Clair. Some key areas and techniques are.....Vertical jigging in the North Channel past Decker's Landing right into the buoys. Whip fishing at the end of the South Channel. Trolling body baits along the weed edges of the end of the Middle Channel in the evening and early morning. Largemouth are hitting spinner baits and topwaters in lilly pads and cat tail weed beds.
Lake St Clair - Fair perch fishing in several areas. Buoy 27 and 28 just off the channel, the South Channel area near Gull Island in 16-20 FOW, and near the weather buoy. Musky are still all over, trolling is amazing on 6-10 inch long hard baits as well as brass and yellow buck tails. Some fisherman are casting swim baits in 10 FOW and getting them also. Walleye have slowed, but some trolling in "the ditch" are getting some on crawlers and spoons.
Anchor Bay/Flats - Pike are biting for trollers and casters. Bomber Long A minnows, Rapalas, and Johnson Spoons are doing well. Perch have been slow and small. Bass are still good, and water of 8 feet or more is likely to produce smallmouth
