have an 09 ultracraft , by misty harbor , 16ft 9 in. alum, 90 hp e-tec I think has a 13 3/4 x 15 alum. prop.will check for sure on this. anyway , dealer installed a 4 in. jack plate on the rig & the tec. said he checked it all out ( water tested ) & rig is doing the best he could get it. WELL -- hole shot is great - top end sucks!! 32.6 mph - gps wot. I really feel I should get 38+ out of a rig weighing in at 965 # plus fuel & gear -- say 600# ??= 1550 + - Is there any simple measurements etc. I can take to confurm the rig is set up properly? tried raising the jack plate about 1 in. not good as moter cavitated on turns , lost speed 2-3 mph before trying any more thought I would ask the experts for help.simple terms please as am not real familiar with all the terms I have read. thought about trying to lower jack plate but to me it appears as motor is sitting really low in water now. need any more info I will try to get it for you.
