I am looking at the Hummingbird 898si combo. I want to have it installed on my new boat when I buy it next year. I was in Bass Pro Shops the other day and was looking and I really like what I saw. One thing I am wondering is with the 898si do I need an external antenna for the GPS? I have read that you do but the guy at BPS said that it had an internal antenna and didn't need and external one. The other thing is how good are the preinstalled maps? I will probably get the navtronics platinum map package. What else am I going to need do get the most out of this system?
