[ICAST 2023] Daiwa’s New Sol AGS Inshore Rods

Flagship Features for not so Flagship Prices is the plan for Daiwa’s newest series of inshore rods. They have unveiled the Sol AGS line of inshore rods at ICAST 2023, a new six-rod lineup that uses flagship parts and features, but the pricing sits at a middle range for these rods. Using everything they’ve learned over the past five years being in the inshore saltwater rod market, the new Sol AGS provides Daiwa’s best in sensitivity and blank durability along with components from their flagship rods. The rods are meant to target everything from redfish, speckled trout, snook, permit, and even tarpon, these rods will be offered in both 7′(medium-light and medium-heavy powers) and 7’6″(medium-light, medium-heavy, and heavy powers) lengths.

“Our main goal with the SOL AGS rods is to bring all the advancements Daiwa has made in rod development over the five years to the inshore saltwater market,” said Daiwa’s Marc Mills. “Anglers will quickly notice the advantages of our own AGS guides and micro pitch blank construction for inshore action that provides both sensitivity and the needed durability.”

Daiwa’s HVF NANOPLUS carbon technology is utilized when making the blanks for the SoL AGS blanks. This reinforces the blanks at a micro level, making for a smaller, lighter, and more powerful rod blank, full of fish-stopping power. The carbon fiber material is Daiwa’s X and X-45 Bias braiding construction which adds strength, rod twisting prevention, and rod ovalization prevention. The new rods also feature Daiwa’s exclusive carbon-framed Air Guide System (AGS) guides, which are some of the lightest and most sensitive rod guides on the market. The rigidity they provide adds crazy sensitivity to the rod, making for a great experience on the water. The rods come with a limited lifetime warranty through Daiwa, and are available at Daiwa dealers now. MSRP for all the rods is set at $349.99.
