I am planning on purchasing my first bass boat, looking at 16-17 foot glass boats, Skeeter sx170, Triton explorer, Nitro and don't know a thing about maintance of an outboard engine. Everyone tells me to go with a 2 Stroke, so what engine would you recommend for lowest maintanance and most reliable?I often come across the Yamaha 2 Stroke's (either 50, 70, or 90hp), how are these engines. Are these very dependable with low maintanance? I know that they are carburated versus the fuel injected models such as Mercury Optimax and Yamaha Vmax but they are so expensive. Are the Opti & Vmax engines much more better and reliable. Remember, I am not going for 100% performance, I need low maintanance. Thanks you for any help!!!!
