I was reading in one of my last issues of Bass Times about that they had actually found DNA samples ABOVE the electronic carp barrier in the Chicago Sanitary and ship Canal. Actually 32 different samples have been found.
Now knowing what carp are capable of and how FAST they can clear up a lake from vegatation what do you think will happen to the Great Lakes as a fishery....I already am aware of what the zebra mussels has done. I dont have hands on experience but I have heard through the grape vine that the bass fishing has actually suffered from the CLEARER water since the mussels got in.
Shoot I was thinking if it got any clearer ...and it will if the carp have gotten in ... how tough is it going to be to catch a bass now. I have heard that you can actually see the bottom in areas up to 35ft deep. Thats just wild. I have fished in lakes where you could see 10ft or more and I DO NOT like water that is that clear. Makes for a pretty hard day of fishin.
