Daiwa’s NEW XBRAID X8 Braided Line – Elevating Everyday Fishing Line
Daiwa is elevating the braided fishing line game with its new XBRAID X8 8-strand fishing line brought in straight from Japan. This is a new multipurpose braid that delivers superior performance and advanced construction. This braided line is made using WX braiding technology, giving the XBRAID X8 a consistent tight weave of 8 strands of polyethylene. Making for a braid with a tight body and minimal stretch. The proprietary WX weaving machine and process makes for the most consistent finished product possible. While other traditional weaving processes for braided line uses eight individual bobbins to weave the braid, that’s not the case with XBRAID X8.
Beyond the advanced WX weave tech, XBRAID X8 uses IZANAS strands, the next generation of Dyneema. This is an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene strand that offers the strength and modulus of organic fibers. The IZANAS strands end up being eight times stronger than piano wire of the same gauge.
“Beyond IZANAS being an unrivaled base material, it’s how individual weights of the entire X-BRAID family are manufactured that makes it far superior to the competition. Other companies take a single base material and stretch it to achieve the desired diameter and weight. This creates inconsistencies, which can lead to weak spots.” – DAIWA Field Marketing Manager, Chris Martin
So, the combination of the IZANAS and WX weave makes for a dense smooth braid that has 1.5 times as much material in the line as a comparable diameter competing braided line, which makes for a more abrasion-resistant line with no stretch, but feels closer to how monofilament line feels. Making for a much easier product to cast and tie knots with. This braided line is available now in two colors and in breaking tests starting at 8 lbs on up to 80 lbs.
