These new reels are now available in several massive sizes, starting at 8000 and going up to 25000. These new supersize 25 Saltiga reels are made to handle the largest game fish you can reasonably tackle. From chasing the “Silver King” tarpon inshore or throwing plugs at cow tuna offshore, the new 25 Saltiga can handle it. These new reels are loaded to the gills with top-notch features that are purpose-made to make this DAIWA‘s toughest spinning reel to date. MSRP for the reels starts at $1099.99 and goes up to $1199.99 on the larger sizes of reels.

• Monocoque Frame – One-piece aluminum alloy body that serves as a rigid and flex-proof frame for the reel, that eliminates screws and sockets for fewer water and dirt intrusion points into the reel.
• Powerdrive Design – Daiwa’s next generation of large spinning reels for targeting the largest fish in the ocean.
• Powerdrive Engine – Combining the oversized Power Digigear and Roller Power Oscillation to make a powerful, smooth, and efficient reel.
• Powerdrive Rotor – A high-strength spherical aluminum rotor that is rigid but low inertia. The rotor shape is symmetrical and highly balanced around the axis of rotation.
• DRD Drag – A completely new drag mechanism equipped with eight metal rollers on one metal plate, replacing traditional carbon drag washers. This prevents drag force decrease due to frictional heat and is five times as durable as traditional drags.
