Berkley Fishing’s new high-performance braided fishing line, Berkley Forward Braid, is now available for purchase. Initially announced last summer at ICAST 2024, this is a new high-quality finesse-orientated braided fishing line with forward-facing sonar (FFS) applications in mind. This new braid uses a proprietary longitudinal construction method that makes a highly efficient line for fishing with forward-facing sonar and other finesse fishing methods. Along with the longitudinal construction of the line, it is thermally fused to keep the line’s round shape and have an ultra-smooth surface. These two features from the proprietary manufacturing method give this braided line incredibly low-stretch properties that improve the sensitivity of the line, letting anglers detect even the lightest bites.
Berkley Forward Braid’s thermally fused nature makes for a super thin line with an optimal sink rate and enhanced abrasion resistance to traditional braided lines. These factors together make for a line that lets anglers put lures right into the strike zone, which is essential for fishing with Forward Facing Sonar. Berkley Forward Braid is available in three color options, Lo-Vis Green, Crystal, and Flame Green, and is offered in both 150-yard spools (4–17 lb. test) and 1,500-yard spools (8–17 lb. test).
