Alright just got back from Missouri and the tx. I had a great time getting to meet everyone and hang out with them. Yes the tx. was a washout to say the least probably at the end of the tx. was some of the worst weather conditions I have ever drove a boat in. Ate some good food saw some of the sites of MO. and Arkensaw. For the most part I am glad that I did go.
Now for the other parts that I and many others could have done without
As stated in a previous thread about the Tsunami of Bonsai fizzled out....Ok there were some short fish weighed in, true. I will continue with this in just a bit...First off we got there and found there to be fliers in some of the stores for the BBM tourny and we thought that was odd to say the least...and that it had not been stated before that there were going to be mostly locals in the tx. OK, yeah they signed up FRIDAY NIGHT OR SATURDAY MORNING. I am not picking on the new members, thats not what this is about, its about the BBM family of members that have made this site what it is. The posting members or ones that have been on here since dang near day 1. They are the ones that this tournament was for. Not for joe blow that the only reason they signed up is to fish this tourney. But maybe they will post and become great additions to BBM.
Ok with that over with now I would like to speak about the subject as stated as the Tsunami being fizzled out....this is where I am extremely pizzed off. Bonsai is a great person, I had my doughts just because he was from California but I am thrilled that I got to meet him and hang out with him. And will not sit here and let someone bash him. Espically not the one in charge after the fact of banning him. The reason he was pizzed off is the same reasons that we are all pizzed off. Not because we lost the tourney. When it comes down to it we all knew that actually doing any good would be a long shot just because it was a lake that most of us had never been. And that a few folks that were already members had fished there before or live there...but hey it was just to get to meet everyone was the main reason most of us went. And I will say again that I am glad that I went. The other reason that I and others are mad is that either we were lied to or simply forgotten about...not sure which. After I weighed in, I asked if it was ok to get the boat on the trailer and start cleaning up and get ready for the party in just a couple of hours for dinner and the drawings for the prizes that were going to be given away later that night. I was told yes go ahead, well I spread the word and others did the same thing. While I was getting everything ready and others were also across the parking lot and Bonsai had already left to go to his room, we heard numbers being called out. Finally realizing what those numbers were, which were the raffle numbers for the prizes, I went and yes was rude about it, asked why don't you wait, what are you doing, nobody is here to even hear what your doing. I was told very quickly for me to let him know when it was ok to start in a very smart azz notion, I yelled back that its not ok because NOBODY is here. OHHHH except the locals. Nice. After that I noticed the Big Daddys Rod custom made for the BBM tourny was up there also, along with alot of other stuff was being given away. It was then that I had to walk away. We were all told that the give aways were going to be raffled off that night at Ahoys...NOT right after the weigh in...don't ya think that we would have stuck around for that? It was like we were not cared about if we were there or not. "NOT MY PROBLEM" seems to come to mind when argueing about nobody is here.....sounds like a major problem to me.
All of this leads me here...I have really enjoyed being a part of BBM for quiet some time now. I have met some awesome folks here. Some of the nicest groups ever...I am proud to call you my friends and thats what this site used to be about. Friendship and helping out your fellow boater in any way possible. I do not feel like this is the way it is, over the past few months we have lost some of the greatest people I know, ones that are willing to go the extra mile and beyond to help someone they have never met and live on the other side of the country or world for that matter. BassBoatMagazine was heading in the right direction and growing by leaps and bounds. Some of the ones that have helped make this possible are no longer here, due to facts that are not worth even speaking of. I do not agree with things that are/have gone on so I will say this again, great knowing all of you here at bbm and I hope to see you on another board someday soon, maybe get together and wet a line.
Be safe out there!
