Have you ever sat down and thought about "Back When"..........
I do that quite frequently and reflect on "back then and now"

Many many times I see this and it truly bothers me. I remeber when I use to fish outta a 12ft boat and FINALLY I made enough money to buy a raggedy ole 7.5 merc to push her with. Man I thought I was top dog. LOL still didnt have a trolling motor but I had a quick engine.Used a 3ft paddle for the trolling motor.......well as time went on I graduated 15ft Terry with a 35hp AND a trolling motor...WHOOHOO man I am moving on up.......then of course was the 16ft Glassstream with an 85 Merc and it was a pad boat.
And so forth and so on.......to where I am today.......a 16ft Tidecraft and a Laser that I am restoring.
Well through out all these changes my take on fishing and the sport that it is ....hasnt changed......I still love the sport because of what it is.......a time to get out and have fun and enjoy the comadry of others......just good ole plain clean fun.

WELL........how many times have you noticed that other folks have taken a different route. They start to get better boats and better equipment and then they start to forget where they come from and what fishing is all about......then there personality changes.

I for one will always remember what fishing means to me. I cant tell you how many times I have been out there and see an eagle and totally forget about the fact that I am fishing and just watch the beauty of mother nature. Or be running wide open to another spot in a tourney and see someone having problems...i will take the time to lend a hand.......or see a young angler walking the bank and maybe see that they are frustrated because they cant catch a fish. Take the time to maybe give them a few tips or a handful of lures or for that matter get them in the boat and let them experience something that may change there lives forever.

To sum it all up what I am saying is how I feel about "Fishing"....not just bass fishing. I will never look down on a trout fisherman, a catfisherman, a crappie fisherman. or even maybe a carp fisherman. That's there "get away" from the world.
