It seems that Canada and the US are at it again with enforcing laws that haven't been enforced in many decades. Politicians are like little(stupid) kids. You take my candy, I'm gonna take yours.
This time it's entering opposing waters and stopping without first calling in(no cell phone) from a port of entry phone and receiving a number. Rumor has it a US fisherman was checked by Canada Border Patrol and had no number. He was fined on the spot $1000.00 for which he had to pay by credit card(no cash or check) or have his boat and equipment confenscated. It is also said a Canadian jet skier stopped in US waters by Bolt Castle to look at the castle, was checked by US Border Patrol and fined $300.00 for stopping in US waters.
This will certainly put a hurting on tournament fishing and recreational boating/fishing. Members of my bass club are looking into this further.
