This debate will go on forever. Each side has their merit and project excellent points in this debate. I have ALWAYS been die-hard 2-Stroke. I won't give up my 6.5hp 2-Stroke Lawn Boy (one of the last ones they made). The Verado was the first step in closing the "gap" in performance, but I would liken it to a base hit or perhaps a double (in baseball terms). The new VMAX SHO Yamaha is indeed a bigger step. Not sure if its a home-run yet or not but its dang close.

The other day I was walleye fishing with my FIL. He gets a new sponser boat every year (2075 LUND/300 Verado). I am not a big fan of the Verado for many reasons. One is they pretty much are just too heavy and underperform on bassboats. It is however a great match for his big "tin can" Walleye boat. They are super quiet, smooth shifting and have good low-end grunt. One thing though....they STINK like a 4-stroke. Make no mistake, they emit smoke just like an I/O or Mastercraft, etc. Now, you can't see it, and only can smell it when the wind is right while ideling. But PEEE EEWWW! Its that very subtle but "sour" smelling exhaust. It really made me miss that "sweet" 2-Stroke smell.

My Ramble for the day :p
