    I loved my stick steering on that jonboat! Sure beat sitting in the back steering the boat around.

    The main reason I didnt like it in mine was it was in the way for standing up and fishing

    I had stick steering in the jon boat I had just before I bought the Terry 420. I even asked the dealer if he could put stick steering in the Terry He just laughed and said NO.

    1996 Stratos 201 XL Pro DC/2009 Evinrude 225 HO purchased as a basket case in December 2012 back in the water July 2014, blown up 1995 Johnson Venom 200, severely abused gel coat on top cap from prolonged sun exposure, many interior pieces were attached with dry wall screws, several impact areas on hull from rock strikes,electrical nightmare, no trolling motor, no usable electronics. Have now replaced all gauges with new Evinrude ICON PRO NMEA 2000 gauges, Humminbird 999 HD DI SI at helm 1099 HD DI SI at the bow Matrix 37 at stern, Minn Kota 80lb Terrova with Ipilot & remote interfaced to the 1099, all new seating.

    Those are actually pretty popular with the river rats and their jet powered jon boats in Missouri.

    my first bass boat is the boat in my profile pic. its got a warmed over evinrude on it with a 24 volt motorguide up front.i grew up in a bumble bee family my grand dad on my dads side has a 2100 bee with a bad to the bone merc. dad bought his 254 new in 94 with a 70 horse black johnson. i also have a v154 that im rebuilding with composites. that is getting a 90 v4 evinrude

    1978 Roughneck 16' glass with an 85 horse merc and a motor guide on the front. Classic Lawrance Flasher at the console.

    1986 Champion 186, 150 Merc. was my Father in laws boat.
    Ran it until it was rear ended going down the highway.

    Yes it did,
    My fishing partners motor home. His wife was following in their little truck.
    The distracted driver hit her in the left rear, she rolled the truck over in the shoulder. Then the guy hits the boat into the motor home. The Merc killed his truck, we found the skeg buried in the radiator. He said he never saw her or the motor home.
    Thank god my buddies wife was just bruised up.
    The Champion did survive, new trailer, lower unit and a bit of transom work. She does have numerous stress cracks from the seats to the transom. Brother in Law takes it out on calm sunny days.
