This is not about fish'n or boat'n
Not about a political or national view
It is something that I am seeing more and more of.
The shift in governance that is occurring world wide is dramatic.
This is a little outlook on that shift.
I am curious on your point of view and the perceived impact on you and your family

Any one heard the saying "Whats good for GM is good for America"?
That corperate patriotism went out the window as the corporations farmed out the labour and abandoned its promises.
This has been a global occurrence that has left millions angry while a few got wealthy.
Enter the global information era and now people have been shown the greed and arrogance of the established.
A number of nations have relooked at the agreements of trade labour and taxation. A number of nations are being forced by the anger of the informed citizen population to make changes.
Just look closely at the wording of most established trade agreements and you will not see an emphisis on "fair trade" but on free trade. Not getting into the specifics of trade but as it stands corporations aggressively look for the next stable "slave labour force" to use in the quest for profit. The rational used by corporates is that they are giving consumers the lowest prices. Those hundred dollar high cut b-ball shoes made by young girls making a dollar a day are a prime example to think about as you read on. How else could the corporations afford the hundreds of millions spent each year on endorsements and propaganda.
Not to take away from the honest hardworking corporations that place values ahead of profit as they are a rarity and should be supported by the communities that they support.
Fear of protectionism is the cry on the media these days. Trade wars and uneconomic unrest they say will be the death of us. But what about that one word that they do not use? "Fair" Fair trade not free trade where everything is given away but Fair Trade, where everything is placed on equal terms.
Fair Trade would be a big change to the established system as there would be open and honest competition globally.
That would take away the quest for the "slave labour force" and would instill a focus on quality. The down side is immediate and quick as Fair Trade would raise the cost of goods globally. Consumers would have to pay a fair price for the bread the coffee the fruits vegetables and meat. Consumers would also have to pay a fair price for the farmed out labour force items such as electronics, clothing, and toys only to name a few.
So the question for the nations citizens of the world, are you willing to pay for Fair Trade? Will you sacrifice your purchasing power for your countries economic longevity? Do you need that second third or fourth high definition television or do you want you children to have a place to work?
Global shift in the outlook on trade is a bigger question than most are willing to look at. If the push for Fair Trade continues there will have to be some major shifting in priorities. The question is, are you ready for the changes necessary? Are you willing to make the adjustments in your life?
Understanding the big picture is a difficult thing to do but being open honest and treating all with true fairness is a hardship worth pursuing the long run.
