Well i have been getting some water in the trolling motor while fishing then when i put it up and trailer it home or run on my big motor the water runs down the shaft and out the head unit splashing the hull with black water stains! On long runs i get the s*** in my face.
Anyone have the same problem?

Its a MinnKota 24V 55lb auto pilot model with the electric foot control. Its an older model (824 or something).
I was thinking of just plugging the shaft threw the top with silicon sealant but then the water would get stuck in the motor unit and possible rust it out.
Is there a seal kit i can buy or something?
