I recently did a prop search on Mercury's site. I have a Track Targa175 Sport, aluminum, w/t, 2005 90hp Mercury 4-stroke. I was running an aluminum 13x19, WOT 5200, Top speed 34MPH (GPS). I have trouble getting on plane with three persons and staying on plane at lower speeds. The site recommended a Trophy Plus 4-blade, 13.75 dia, 17 P (48-825930A46).
I found an exact match and installed on my motor. When testing I noticed I had a grinding noise at low throttle (1000RPM) and in reverse. I checked the prop for clearance and tightened it down again. Once over 1000 RPM the noise goes away, but at 2700 RPM, the prop spins out. I put the old prop back on and it runs just fine. The Trophy is vented and they are wide open (about 1/2" in diameter)
Any suggestions?
