I've recently been told that certain 4 Blade props have increased "Static Thrust" over the 3's. I've never heard that term before, what is meant by it?
Also, how much RPM would I typically drop by running a 4 Blade prop vs a 3 blade of same pitch?
Reason I am asking is because I am currently running a 15 pitch 3 blade and at between 3/4 and 7/8 throttle I am at 5600 RPM. So I am trying to find a prop that puts me right at 5600 RPM at wide open throttle.
Having said that also, if say I switch from a 3 Blade to a 4 Blade, would I gain in top end speed or would I get better hold shot by doing this? Or would I just lower my RPM at wide open? Not overly important, just curious what I am working with.
Idealy I don't want to lose much if any hole shot that my 15 gets, but I would like to cap on my efficiency and top speed at wide open. Just wondering if switching to a 4 Blade 15 pitch would be better than trying to find a 3 blade 16 pitch instead.
