2016 is nearly over and it will soon be 2017. Anyone have fishing resolutions for the new year?
I have two to work on: firstly I am going to pay more attention to my hooks. In particular I mean the hooks on my crankbaits, topwatersand other hard baits. I already use chemically sharpened hooks for all my soft plastics, almost exclusively mustad hooks with no complaints. I'm slowly getting my hard bait hooks changed out starting with the baits I fish the most. I'm also going to carry fresh hooks and split ring pliers to change on the water
Secondly I am going to make more of an effort to fish new water. This is partly to combat home lake burnout which hit hard in 2016. Instead of my home lake every weekend I will pick one weekend out of three to go fish other lakes within an hour or two of the house.
Anyone else setting goals?
