I own a 2006 Triton TR-20X HP, standard jack plate and a Mercury 225 (standard prop).
From the very beginning the boat has handled "odd" during acceleration and power down. I ask the dealer about this and the factory. Both told me that the 2006 was designed for the Verado. All the measurements for the engine height, jack plate have been checked and are within the manufacturer's specs.
I am now in a position that I can afford to install a hydraulic jack plate, and change the prop (if necessary) to better "tune" the boat's performance.
Any comments, suggestions, etc are greatly appreciated.
